Of all the crops that we’ve had trouble with in the greenhouse, edible flowers are certainly number 1.
I believe that it is because we don’t have enough of them to keep the climate at the right temperature for them, so they are not in their ideal location–they have to put up with what we want for the float beds.
On the violas, we always have powdery mildew, but it is particularly bad this year. I will have to spray them first thing tomorrow, before staff come in.
The nasturtium don’t get powdery mildew–at least we haven’t seen it yet–but we get thrips. You can see the cucumeris sachet that I have on every nasturtium planting. Even so, we already have thrip damage (usually it starts a bit later than this, so we will need to do something a little more aggressive, I see.
